Lisa K. Keller, 54, of Oakwood passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Lisa was born in Danville on August 6, 1961 the daughter of Robert M. Sr and Ruth M (Herbert) Ferris. Lisa married William Keller on June 18, 2004 who survives. Also surviving are two step sons Jake Keller of Oakwood and Cole Keller of Charleston. Other survivors include her father Robert Ferris, god daughter Nakita McClain and nieces and nephews; Eric Ferris, Jason, James and Jennifer Kester, Mike, Brandie and Tyler Connor. Lisa worked for Walgreen's accounting for 12 years. After Lisa graduated from the University of Illinois in 1995 and became a CPA where she worked for Personal Care Insurance for 13 years. Lisa was an EMT for the Oakwood Ambulance Service for 5 years. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a certified scuba diver, loved roller coasters, watching movies and above all else playing with her only daughter her Shitzu Maggie Mae. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Ferris, brother Robert Ferris Jr., sister's Shirley Kester and Suzan Connor. A celebration of Lisa's life will be at 3pm on Saturday October 3, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Pattie Wise officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 1pm - 3pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family asks that memorials be made in Lisa's name to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or the American Cancer Society or Oakwood Ambulance and Rescue Service.
