Danville- Lindy Frances Curry, 54, of Danville passed away at 2:27 AM on November 26, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on January 31, 1957 in Danville to John F. and Ruth M. Longer Curry. She is survived by her mother; twin sister Cindy Curry of Westville; very special friend Cheryl Phelps; step-brother John (Kay) Morgan of Tilton; and two nieces, Sandy Warren and Judy Scott. She was preceded in death by her father and two aunts, Frances McNeese and Cathryne Bahls. Lindy earned her associated degree in Early Childhood Development. She volunteered her time in the Adult Illiteracy Program through DACC, worked for Sweetheart, and was a tutor and teacher at Catlin High School. She loved reading her kindle, the Bears and Illini, watching football and basketball," I Love Lucy", the "Andy Griffith Show", and never missed an episode of "The View". Cooking was close to her heart and just loved being in the kitchen. She also loved spending time with her cats, Calla Leah, Ace High, Francis Vera, Crickett, and her Africa Grey, Stumpy. Lindy also loved watching the hummingbirds. She loved her garden and entertaining at her home and also had traveled from San Diego to Ockroke and Key West to Washington State. A service to celebrate the life of Lindy Curry will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Jim Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, November 30, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to CARA.
