Linda White

Linda White, 73 passed away on September 18, 2022, at 6:28 am at OSF Transitional Hospital in Peoria, IL. Linda or "Momma" as her daughter called her was born to James and Susan (Hashman)White on January 20, 1949. She was the youngest of 12 kids. Momma loved to spend time with me shopping, going to Cracker Barrel and all points in between. She loved going to festivals, fishing, spending time around the fire pit and watching scary movies. She loved to watch Bigfoot shows and The Golden Girls on tv as well as listening to Alan Jackson. Although she is in heaven now, she was frequently close to heaven when Alan Jackson was playing. She loved going to his concerts and was floating on the clouds when she got to meet him and give him a hug in Evansville, Indiana. Momma loved running around with her niece, Susan Page and they also shared a special bond. They would frequently talk on the phone calling each other Margaret and Ethel, unless they were out running around town. They shared a very close bond and was always together. Not only will she be missed terribly by me, but she will be missed by our Beagle Baby, Wrigley. She was always looking forward to taking her on adventures. One of her happiest memories with Wrigley was having lunch with her at Cracker Barrel after a trip to Bass Pro. She got the biggest kick out of Wrigley sitting at the table looking at the menu and just how much of a good girl she was. There is so much more I could say, but space wont allow. Momma loved baking cakes and making cookies. She didnt inherit Grandmas biscuit baking skills though. She made biscuits so hard once they broke a bottle when I threw them over the hill. We would frequently laugh at that story. She never made biscuits from scratch again. Momma did inherit Grandmas laughing ability, as well as a lot of the Whites, and she would get to laughing about something and she would laugh until she cried and would start laughing hours later when she started thinking about it again. Momma worked as a CNA for 28 years before retiring from Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She cared for her residents as if they were her own family. She raised me to be kind, considerate, compassionate, to have integrity and to be honest. I inherited her love for people and animals. Linda is survived by her loving daughter, Angela "Angel" White, brother Charles White of Florida, many nieces, nephews that she loved very much. Momma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Henry, George, Bob, Hershel, Albert, Carl, Jerry, William "Bill" and sisters Mary Peterson and Nancy Hardy. From a very young age, momma and I always had a saying before bed that always happened, so for one last time, "Good night momma, I love you with all my heart, forever and ever!" A celebration of Lindas life will be held at 12:00pm, with Visitation beginning at 10:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Vermilion River where she grew up, lived and where the family tradition started at 137 South Logan, Danville, Illinois 61832.
