Linda Sue Sams

Georgetown, Ill. - Linda Sue Sams, 66, of Georgetown, passed away at 8 a.m. CDT Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her residence.

She was born August 10, 1951 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Rex William and Helen Cassie (Balsis) Kochell, Sr.

Linda married Donald Sams on August 15, 1970 in Hendersonville, Kentucky. He survives.

Other survivors include her son, Corey Sams of Newport News, Virginia; her mother, Helen Cassie Kochell of Talbot, Indiana; granddaughter, Faith Sothoron of Clayton, North Carolina; sister, Judy Daulton of Lafayette, Indiana; two brothers, Rex William Kochell, Jr. of Lafayette, Indiana and Ronnie (Karen) Kochell of Rossville, Illinois; two special friends, Shirley Hayes of Tilton, Illinois and Kenneth Lee of Ridge Farm, Illinois, and a host of many of friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Rex William Kochell, Sr.; daughter, Tracy Lynn Ross and granddaughter, Haley Sams.

Linda was currently employed at K.I.K. in Danville, Illinois. She was a graduate of Benton Central High School. Linda enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling, watching basketball, listening to country music and spending time with her granddaughter and #1 husband.

Funeral services: 3 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 5, 2018 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. James Elrod; Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery, north of Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EDT until time of services on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the funeral home.
