Linda Sue Scott

Linda Sue Scott, 76, of Danville, Illinois passed away on Monday August 3, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. Linda was born on June 22, 1950, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Thomas) Kenny Jr. Linda later married Randy Scott on March 15, 1991, he survives.

Linda leaves behind her children; Matt Rice, Maggie Rice, Mandy (Theodor Gonzalez) Rice, Mike (Susan) Scott, Shanna (Steve) Doggett, grandchildren; Austin Shelato, Zach (Trinity Upton) Shelato, Isabela (Kenzie) Contreras, Alana Miller, Matthew Scott, Randy Scott, Tabitha Scott, Tara Oxier, John Cody Scott, Alex Doggett, Molly Doggett, and Maddy Doggett and several great grandchildren, sister-in-law Terri (Richard) Dicken.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Mark Rice and John Scott.

Linda was an avid reader who enjoyed a long book. She loved to pick on her friends and family and really the grandchildren. Linda loved to go with Randy out to eat, they enjoyed weekend road trips where they just got in the car and took care of everyone she loved.

A Celebration will be held at 10 am on Friday August 7, 2026, at Grape Creek Baptist Church. Pastor David Leary will officiate. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday August 6, 2026, from 4-7 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Urbas Chapel 414 State Street Westville, Illinois.
