Linda Lou Burris

Linda Lou Burris, 63, of Georgetown passed away at 2:09pm, Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born to Hal Sr. and Madge {Murray} Burris on November 27, 1948, in Danville, IL. Linda was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Tilton for 31 years. She enjoyed helping in their nursery and loved her church family. She enjoyed going to play Bingo and also watching all sports, as well as, John Wayne movies. Linda had a special place in her heart for animals. Most of all, Linda loved being with her family and especially cherished time spent with her nieces & nephews. Those who will miss her dearly include: her mother, Madge Burris of Georgetown; her brothers, Hal Bud' (Janet) Burris of Sidell & Roger (Nancy) Burris of Vermilion Grove; her sisters, Brenda Daugherty of Tilton & Susan Campbell-Atwood of Westville; her several nieces & nephews; and her special friends, Jan Harden, Tammy Hall, Dora, & Bill Bening. Her father, Hal Burris Sr., preceded her in death. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church in Tilton, with Pastors Scott McCurdy & Joe Humrichous officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Friday, September 7, 2012, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, Georgetown. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
