Linda Sue (Lane) Longfellow affectionately known by her friends as COB, of Danville died on Friday July 13, 2012 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Linda was born to Donald Roy Lane and Clara Mae Lane on April 2, 1949 in Danville, IL. Throughout her life, Linda was a strong, loving and supportive mother, a faithful wife and a good friend. Her giving nature and outgoing demeanor has always left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Linda was a co-owner of the Big 4 Tavern and later, the Friendly Tavern. She will be sorely missed and deeply loved forever. The world is a lesser place without her. Linda was married to Kenny Longfellow on May 11, 1984 and they celebrated many years of companionship. She is survived by her husband Kenny, her mother, Clara Lane, two brothers, Mark and Steve Lane of Danville, children; Mike and his wife Keri Garfield of Danville and James Garfield of Madison, Wisconsin. Step-daughters, Angie Bierly of Paris IL, Carie Dieu, Tracy and Bob Melton of Danville, grandchildren, Caleb and Allisyn Garfield, Emily Bierly and Dalton Dieu. Linda has requested no services. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Linda's name to the American Cancer Society.
