Linda Lou Alpers, 73, of Danville, IL passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Carle Hospital in Champaign, IL. Linda was born March 22, 1947, in Danville, IL to Stanley Eugene and Dorothy June (Ranger) Hicks. They precede her in death.
She attended Tilton Grade School and Danville High School. Linda married John Wesley Alpers on January 8, 1966 in Danville, IL. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Randy (Shelley) Alpers; a daughter, Tammy Alpers; two grandchildren, Daniel Wise and Grace Wise; one brother, David L (Bea) Hicks; three sisters, Debbie J Graves, Lori (Skip) Pratt, Cathy (Tony) Ferrante; and many special nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed oil painting, mushroom hunting with her son, shopping, cooking for all the Holidays, family get togethers and visiting with her grand pets Daisy, Honey and Dexter. Linda especially enjoyed spending time with her husband of 54 years, children, and grandchildren. She took pride in watching her grandson play baseball and her granddaughters artwork. She never missed a school program or event.
A Private Family Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Charlie Strange. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 04, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
