Linda Joyce Kennedy

Linda Joyce Kennedy (Trahan) from Mahomet, IL passed away July 9, 2025. Born on March 1, 1953, in Waterville, Maine, Linda was the daughter of Raymond and Juliette Trahan. Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Richard G. Kennedy, with whom she shared 34 years of love. She was a proud mother to her daughter, Amber (Marceau) Chapman (Bill), and a cherished grandmother to Julia, Donald, and Mary Chapman, who brought immense joy to her life. She is fondly remembered by her sister, Sandra Cousins (Ken), and her brother, Ronald Trahan (Peggy) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Linda was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Cheryl Kennedy.

Linda found joy in camping, traveling, stamping and scrapbooking, reading, baking, playing cards and various activities at church. But above all, her favorite moments were those spent with her family, especially the grandchildren, creating lasting memories. Linda had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, who have long been a part of her home and heart.

Linda dedicated many years of service to the University of Illinois, where she worked in both the Department of Accounting and the Department of Agriculture.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who know her. Linda’s life will be celebrated in a private family service at a future date.

Cremation arrangements have been made at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Mahomet Chapel 1102 Churchill Rd. Mahomet, Illinois 61853.
