Linda Kay (Moudy) Nickle, 80, of Covington, IN went to be home with her Lord & Savior and family on the morning of October 5, 2021, at OSF Hospital in Danville, IL. She was born on November 6, 1940, in Mound Township, Warren CO (near Foster) the daughter of Robert T. Moudy and Lillian V. (Shumacker) Moudy. She married Dr. William C. Nickle on August 31, 1962, at Benson Chapel Church in Warren Co. IN. Linda is survived by her four sons: Daniel W. (Lisa) Nickle, Kenneth L. of Covington, IN; Joseph R. (Christy) of Veedersburg, IN; and James E. (Rochelle) of Muskegon, MI. Eight granddaughters: Taylor, Abby, Brittney, Bailey, Storie, Lexy, Zoie, and Raina. Three grandsons: Colby, Lucas, and Finn. One-step grandson Wesley Youhas. Three great grandchildren: Memphis, Cora, and Riot. Two sisters: Gayle (Tom) Spring and Carol Powell. She has several nieces and nephews in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Maine, Connecticut, and Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband William, parents Robert and Lillian, sister Connie (Cliff) Smith, and brother Robert (Jane) Moudy. Linda was a part of the Covington High School graduating class of 1958, as well as attended Perrysville Schools for 10 years. She retired from the United State Postal Service after a 22-year career as a service carrier after working at branches in Covington, IN, Greensville, SC, and Catlin, IL. She also worked at General Electric in Danville, IL for a number of years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Danville, IL. She enjoyed her life as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Many enjoyable years of her life were spent in Christian service in many churches across the country alongside her husband. She was a proud field representative for the Lighthouse Childrens Home in Kosciusko, MS and Costa Rica. She had a vast joy for life and enjoyed spending her time with friends, reading, planting flowers, working in her garden, capturing lifes moments through pictures, traveling, and vacationing with her family, attending church, and giving back to others. A Celebration of Lindas life will be held at on 2:00pm (EST), Monday, October 11, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932. Visitation will be held Noon to 2:00pm on Monday prior to her service at the funeral home. Final resting place to be at Lower Mound Cemetery on Warren County, IN.
