Linda Hewerdine

Linda Hewerdine, 83, of Dewey passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at home surrounded by family. She was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Joliet, a daughter of Errit and June (Bradshaw) Meece. She married David Baldwin. She later married Von Hewerdine. He preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived in death by two sons, Chris (Debbie) Baldwin of Plainfield and Brent (Jen Kresl) Baldwin of Warrenville; three brothers, Jerry Meece of Morris, Tom Meece of Calif., and Scott Meece of Fla.; five grandchildren, Nicole (D’Angelo) Baldwin of Colo., Brian Baldwin of Colo., Maria Baldwin of Ill., Alexander De Santo of Ill., and Rachael Hillman of Ill. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill. Linda owned and operated S.H.A.R.E. (Society of Hoofed Animal Rescue and Emergency). She loved horses and rescuing them was her life’s passion. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove, Rantoul. In lieu of flowers, donations made to SHARE would be greatly appreciated.
