Linda Mae (Hathaway) Culbreth, born October 30, 1956, in Danville, Illinois, to Roy “Cotton” and Hope (Barton) Hathaway. She passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri, at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
Linda was a woman with a beautiful, giving heart who found her greatest joys in the simple beauty of the world around her. Before years of medical issues limited her activities, she embraced life with a vibrant love for nature, took pleasure in cooking for those she loved, and cherished every moment spent surrounded by her family and her beloved pets. Her heart was woven deeply into the lives of her two daughters.
For twenty-five years, Linda shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Greg Culbreth, whose unconditional love and steadfast support through every challenge stood as a constant anchor in her life. Greg now deeply grieves the loss of his cherished wife. Linda is also survived by her daughters Amanda "Mandy" Harris and Deidra (Joshusa Trussel) Culbreth, grandchildren William "Billy" (Micaiah) Eldridge and Blaine Harris, great grandchildren, Anderson "Andy" Eldridge and Nellette "Nelly" Eldridge her sisters Anne (Jerry) Wilson and Elizabeth Wright, along with her ex-husband Chuck (Valle) Shelby, with whom she had her daughter Mandy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy “Cotton” and Hope (Barton) Hathaway, her brother Roy Hathaway, and her sister Christine Sollars
Linda’s gentle spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
