Danville - Linda C. Lawhorn, 72, of Danville passed away at 8:22 PM on September 27, 2017 at her home on Danville, IL. Linda was born on August 31, 1945 the daughter of Arthur Max and Perrie Ann (Compton) Heidrick in Danville, IL. She was first married to Henry Earl Ewing and later married James Lawhorn on December 12, 1992 in Danville, IL. James preceded her in death on September 11, 2008. Survivors include her two sons, Mark Jump of Bismarck, IL and Henry "J.R." Ewing of Peoria, IL, four daughters, Julie (Jeffrey) Myers of Cayuga, IN, Laura Hill of Danville, April Sherwood of Danville, IL and Sharon (Rod) Fancil of Potomac, IL, one brother, Harold "Harry" (Carol) Heidrick of Bismarck, 14 grandchildren, Holly and Stan, Heidi, Matthew, Amber, T.J. and Drew, Brandi, Bryan, Jr., Ashley, Courtney, Chase, Austin, Zach, Scott and Chealsi, fourteen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and special family friend and caregiver, Melinda Beason. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, husband James Lawhorn, and two brothers, Max and Raymond Heidrick. Linda was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She was a homemaker and loved being a grandma. Linda also worked outside the home as a CNA at Colonial Manor, was a school bus driver for District 118, and volunteered at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. She never knew a stranger and enjoyed sitting on her porch swing, listening to a variety of music such as Elvis, the Beach Boys and the Temptations, fond of her programs like Jerry Springer, Steve Wilkos, the Young and the Restless and a variety of Hallmark and Lifetime shows. She and her late husband, James, loved riding motorcycles and heading south during the winter months. Most of all, Linda adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Phil Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
