Linda Albright

Linda Kay Albright, 54, of Urbana, passed away peacefully at her home on January 19, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. Linda was born February 12, 1964 in Decatur to Robert D. and Betty J. (Wagner) Albright of Oreana, IL. After graduating from Argenta-Oreana High School in 1982, she attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, graduating in 1987. Linda was employed by the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette for the last 25 years. Up until the time of her illness, Linda had not missed a day of work in over 11 years. Those missed days were to donate bone marrow to her brother who is a leukemia survivor because of her loving donation. Linda is survived by her fianc, David K. Kuehl of Urbana; brothers Steven D. Albright of Wildwood, MO and Jeffrey L. Albright of East Peoria, IL. Also surviving are niece Jessica L. Albright of University City, MO and nephew Tyler B. Albright of Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents. Linda was a devoted fan of all Illini sports and St. Louis Cardinals. She was a great sport and enjoyed being teased, but gave it right back. Her sense of sportsmanship was only tested if the Cardinals lost, or the Cubs won. She also loved good food, watching TV and spending relaxing evenings with her "babies" Zoey and Kylie, who will miss her tremendously. Linda attended The Vineyard Church in Urbana 1500 N. Lincoln Ave. 61801 where a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11am. The family would like to thank the staff at OSF Heart of Mary Hospital, the staff at Illini-Heritage Nursing Home and the Harbor Light Hospice team who provided excellent care for Linda during her illness. Words cannot express the appreciation felt for all who helped make her final days as comfortable as possible. You will not be forgotten.
