Lin L. Grisham, 86, of Danville, passed away at 2:45 PM on January 8, 2012 at The Forum at the Crossing in Indianapolis. Lin was born on September 16, 1925 the son on Lloyd and Aileen (Leeper) Grisham in Chaffee Missouri. He married Dona Rae Ford on January 1, 1951 in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded Lin in death on July 2, 2004. He is survived by three daughters-Cathy Grisham-Azuma of Wilmette, IL, Heather (Peter) Winters of Zionsville, IN, Holly (John) Conroy of Western Springs, IL, four grandchildren- Hailey, Emily and John III Conroy and Lauren Azuma. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister-Alice J. Rahn. Lin graduated from Kennett High School in 1943 then went on to get his engineering degree at the University of Minnesota. He was a long-time member of St. James United Methodist Church in Danville. He joined the Navy in May of 1943 earning his Lt. Jr Grade and returned home in July of 1946. He was a member of the Danville Tennis Center and was a co-founder of Tridan Tool and Machine Inc. He loved tennis, golf, horse racing, and owning horses. He was involved in a number of Danville causes, including the United Methodist Men, meals on wheels, Danville Tennis Center and Christian Home for Youth. A celebration of Lin's life will be held on Thursday January 12, 2012 at 10 AM at St. James United Methodist Church in Danville with Reverend C. Don Ferrill officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 11, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials can be made in Lin's name to the Danville Tennis Center or St. James United Methodist Church.
