GEORGETOWN- Lillie Virginia Stokes, 79 of Georgetown, passed away at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on January 17, 1927, in House Cave, Kentucky, the daughter of Gent and Lillie (Smith) Miller. Both of her parents precede her in death. On April of 1943, Virginia was wed to Conrad Doyle. He preceded her in death in Nov of 1977. She later married Charles E. Stokes in Georgetown on November 1, 1969. He preceded her in death in Feb of 1992. Lillie is survived by: her children, David (Georgia) Doyle of Georgetown and Connie McMasters of Georgetown; her step-son, Everett Ray Stokes of Westville; her two grandchildren, John McMasters Jr. and Mike D. McMasters, both of Georgetown; and her great-granddaughter, Kylie McMaster of Georgetown; her three sisters, Audrey Witherspoon of Georgetown, Fannie Fulks of Cave City, KY, and Dorothy Donholf of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her step-grandchildren. Her parents, a brother, a sister, and step-daughter, preceded Lillie in death. Lillie was employed as a waitress at the former Gleichmans Drug store in Georgetown from 1963 to 1967, and also at Tobys Restaurant Caf(c) of Catlin from 1968 to 1972. She enjoyed cooking, caring for her pets, and bird watching. She cherished her time spent with family and friends. A celebration of Mrs. Lillie Virginia Stokes life will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Reverend Phil Jackson will officiate. Final resting place will be at Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown. Visitation will be 4-8pm on Friday, January 5, 2007 at the funeral home.
