Lillie Pauline Smith 85 of Danville passed entered into the Lords house at 7:38 P.M. Thursday August 9, 2007 at Provena USMC Hospital. She was born September 21, 1921 in Fowler, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Iva Miller. She married Jesse J. Smith on August 18, 1940 in Kohoaka, MO; he preceded her on June 3, 2001. Surviving; two daughters, Nancy Jo Humphreys and Donna Seelund both of Danville, two sons; Joseph Wayne (Donna) Smith and David LeRoy (Lucricia) Bentley-Smith both of Florida, six grandchildren; Johnette (Dave) Mills of Florida, Mickey (Joe) Traister of Florida, Rachelle (James) Leckrone of Springfield, Reuben (Christel) Seelund of Auburn, Tara Strebin of Westville and Tahtie Smith of Urbana, also ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and three brothers. Pauline worked for the former Jacob Company in Danville and later worked for the Chicago Daily News as a circulation manager for many years. She was a member of Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church and former member of McKinley Methodist Church. Also a member of Kickapoo Bowman Archery club where she instructed junior archers in the skill of archery, she was active in TOPS and a member of the Vermilion County Home Extension, she loved working in her garden. In her younger days she sang on the radio station and loved to play the harmonica and organ. Funeral services for Lillie Pauline Smith will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August 14, 2007 at Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church 414 Poland road Danville, IL.
