GEORGETOWN - Lillie Margarette High Warner, 87, of Georgetown, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 5th, 2004, at 7:40 pm at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was born on October 28th, 1916, in Warren County, IN, the daughter of Philip Howard High and Gladys (Wakley) High. She married Claude Oakley Warner on November 7th, 1936, in Warren County, IN. He preceded her in death in 1960. Survivors include: her daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Kleiner of Danville; two step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her parents, five brothers - Henry Lee, Howard, Joe, Charles Fredrick, and Ralph, and her step mother-Elizabeth, who raised the family after the passing of Gladys in 1922, preceded her in death. Margarette's was member in the Vermilion County Home extension. She served as Board & Council Member for the Silver Unit in Georgetown. She was involved with the Elmwood School PTA and she was a 4-H Leader, as well as a member of the Bethel Baptist Church as Treasurer and Deaconess. The Bethel Baptist Ladies Missionary Society serving as President & Treasurer, The Independent Baptist Women's Missionary Association, serving as President & Vice President. She was a Member of the Georgetown Senior Women's Club. A volunteer assistant to the Missionary in Loscrusu, NM, and a volunteer for the Share Food Program, as well as Bethel Baptist Church Sunday School Secretary. Margarette's most recent accomplishment was being verified for membership in Governor Bradford Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Through all of memberships and volunteering, Margarette managed to work full-time for the Tilton Pattern Works as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1980. In her spare time, her hobbies included traveling, needlepoint, and being an avid student of the Bible.
