Lillian Stunkard

Lillian G. Stunkard, 97, of Danville, formerly of Oakwood, passed away at 8:20pm, Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. She was born May 1, 1911 in Oakwood, IL, the daughter of Howard and Goldia (Kyger) Johnson. Lillian married Robert LeRoy Stunkard on March 26, 1932 in Paris IL. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2006. She is survived by two sons, Donald L. (Karen) Stunkard of Danville, and Robert E. Stunkard of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, one daughter, Sue C. (Edward) Cabunac of Batesville, MS, one sister, Helen Wallen of Danville, 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, one grandson, and one granddaughter. Lillian was a partner with her husband Bob, in Stunkard Lawn and Garden Center in Batestown. She was a past member of the old Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Danville. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life for Lillian G. Stunkard will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, July 18, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, St., with Miles Clark officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from12:00-2:00pm, (two hours prior to the service) Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Lillianss name to the Danville Humane Society.
