Lillian Mae Swearingen, 94, of Catlin, passed away on Saturday July 7, 2018 at 4:55 a.m. Lillian was born in Oakwood on January 21, 1924 the daughter of Granville and Mary Jane (Kinney) Harris. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell Lewis Jones and second husband, William Swearingen. Lillian will be dearly missed by her children David Allen (Karla Byram) Jones, Bill (Hau) Swearingen, Michael (Kim) Swearingen, Tammy (Robert) Myers; grandchildren, Christopher David (Ana) Jones, Captain Andrew Byram Jones, Casey (Caden Engel) Cook, Breanna (Cory) George, Matthew Cooper; great-grandchildren, Ethan Timothy Jones, Lola Elizabeth Jones, Jack Jones, Atlas George; brothers, Donald Harris, Darrell Harris and sisters, Louise Vandament, Marlene Corbin, Marilyn LeCount. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence Eugene Harris, Willard Earl Harris; sister, Ruth Dalle and grandson, Timothy David Jones. Lillian graduated from Oakwood High School, Class of 1942. She then worked at Esco Corporation for many years before retiring. Lillian loved spending as much time as possible with her family and friends and she will be truly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday July 13, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Darrell Harris. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
