Lezlie Kay Randall, 56, of Tilton passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 17, 1958 in Danville, she was the daughter of Herbert W. Randall, Elizabeth (Butler) and Bill Learnard. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in English. She also graduated from the University of Illinois with honors, earning her Masters of Education degree with a major in Educational and Organizational Leadership. Lezlie never earned a grade lower than A. She was an English teacher for Catlin High School for 18 years, and other various schools within the county for many years. Lezlie had a passion for teaching and enjoyed all of the kids she was able to influence. She worked very hard on the Catlin/ Jamaica school consolidation. Lezlie loved reading and art, and she was an amazing conversationalist. She enjoyed any time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandkids. Lezlie wasnt just a parent to her own kids, she also cared for her kids friends as her own. She had a special relationship with her students that lasted beyond their time in her classroom. She is survived by three children, Andrew (Amy) McMillin of Terre Haute, IN, Kenton (Toni Kasprowicz) McMillin of Chicago, and Grace (Ross) Wilson of Georgetown; three siblings, Robin (Mike) Fetters of Danville, Troy (Julie) Randall of Greensville, SC and Damon Randall of Astatula, FL; a special step brother, Scott (Kathy) Learnard of Perrysville, IN; four step siblings, Mark (Lori) Learnard, Clark Learnard, Beth (Tom) Dekker and Blaine Bensyl; two grandchildren, Kai and Mallie Kate McMillin; four nieces and nephews, Abigail Elizabeth (Tyler) Gutteridge, Zach Randall, Samantha Randall and Damarah Randall; and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert W. Randall; and an infant daughter, Megan Elizabeth McMillin. A service to celebrate Lezlies life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. She will be laid to rest following services at Spring Hill Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the new Salt Fork High School Library. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
