Lethamae Farmer Wade, 86, of Danville, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Lethamae was born on September 23, 1918 in Danville, the daughter of P. Edward and Nellie (Morris) Farmer. She married Arthur F. Wade on January 16, 1947 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1987. She is survived by 2 sisters-in-law- Mary Rita Rouse of Danville and Luann (Albert) Axell of Penn Valley, California; 2 nieces- Luann (Paul) Pasquale of Danville and Julie (Vic) Audo of Mahomet, Illinois; 4 nephews- James (Rosemary) Rouse of Tunnel Hill, Illinois, Mark F. Rouse of Oakton, Virginia, Jeffrey Axell of San Antonio, Texas, and Wade Axell of Willets, California; some very special friends- Mimi and Lou Reitemeier of Danville, Sonia Snapp of Danville, and Vicky Simons of Danville; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 sisters- Beulah Dygert and Violet Farmer. Lethamae graduated from Danville High School in 1936. She attended MacMurray College for women. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1966, where she obtained her bachelor degree in teaching. She retired from Catlin Grade School where she was a 3rd grade school teacher. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Danville. Lethamae enjoyed playing bridge, swimming, and bowling. She also enjoyed gardening. She was an avid supporter of the fine arts in Danville. She was a patron of the Red Mask Theater, Danville Symphony Orchestra, and Danville Light Opera.
