Letha L. Fitzwater

Letha L. Fitzwater, 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 8:32pm, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana. She was born on January 24, 1934, in Georgetown the daughter of James P. and Martha S. {Adams} Priest, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Herman F. Fitzwater Sr. on July 15, 1952, in Georgetown until his passing on January 7, 2002.

Letha is survived by: her sons, Franklin (Julie) Fitzwater, Herman (Tammy) Fitzwater, & James Fitzwater; her daughters, Dorothy (Harvey) Bonomo, Betty Adkisson, & Martha (Chris) Fortner; her twenty grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley Mullens, Anna Shannon, & Mary Hinkle; and her brother-in-law, Leroy Thompson. She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Marilyn Stingley; her son-in-law, David Adkisson; her grandson, Russ Fitzwater; and thirteen brothers & sisters.

Letha enjoyed taking care of her family and her home, as well as gardening and sewing. Letha also enjoyed sitting on her step and never knew a stranger. She loved her family and cherished spending time with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Lethas life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor John Goldfuss officiating. Visitation will be 3:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday, December 3, 2018, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana.
