LeRoy William Krage, 78, of Danville, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home. LeRoy was born on March 24, 1929 in Lombard, Illinois, the son of Victor W. and Anna (Prinke) Krage. He married Addie V. Harvey on July 9, 1948 in Jonesboro, Georgia. She survives. He is survived by his five sons- Victor (Doyne) Krage, Kenneth (Diane) Krage, William Krage, Robert (Sandy) Krage, and Richard Krage; one brother- George Marema; one sister- Alice Dukes; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. LeRoy enlisted in the United States Army in 1946 until 1949. He re-enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952, serving with the C.B. unit until he was discharged from active duty in 1954. Following the military, LeRoy worked at Kraft Foods in Danville for 27 years as a millwright. After working at Kraft, LeRoy worked at St. Elizabeths Hospital for six years. LeRoy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building and flying RC model planes. He was also a private pilot who flew single engine planes. LeRoy was a long time member of the American Legion, a voting member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and belonged to the Melody Field RC Flyers Club. A Celebration of the Life of LeRoy William Krage will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 at the V.A. Protestant Chapel, 1900 E. Main St. in Danville, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (Formerly lakeside-Barrick) at 3550 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will be at Danville National Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #210. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
