Lera M. Barnhart

Lera M. Barnhart, 72, of Catlin, passed away on July 20, 2017 peacefully at her home. She was born on October 29, 1944 in Paris, IL the daughter of Everett and NaOmi (Metcalf) Morris. She married Herbert Barnhart on July 8, 1967 in Danville and he preceded her in death in 2014. Lera will be deeply missed by her daughters; Carla (Butch) Roseman of Westville, IL and Melissa (Mark) Ritter of Ramsey, IL, sisters; Archie (Bill) Nagele of Sheldon, IL and Lurna (Jim) Coffman of Catlin, IL, sister-in-law, Wanda (Dale) Onley of Warden, IL, grandchildren; Amanda Miller, Nicole Nail, Wes Lindsey, Cecelia Ritter and Jason Ritter, great grandchildren; Logan McBride-Cox, Amelia Miller, Wyatt Miller, Jackson Nail, Memphis Nail and one beloved puppy "Sissy". She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Lera graduated from Danville High School in 1962 and went to Danville Beauty School where she received her cosmetology license and began her own salon. She was a hairdresser for almost 30 years. Lera loved to bowl and was in the Danville bowling hall of fame. She also enjoyed dancing, listening to music and was an avid euchre player. A memorial visitation for Lera will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 1-2 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. A private family only graveside service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to C.A.R.A. 609 East 5th St. Tilton, IL 61833.
