Leone M. Walker

Leone M. Walker, 89, of Danville, passed away at 12:35 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2004 2004 at Provena U.S.M.C. - Logan Campus, Danville. Leone was born January 14, 1915 in Danville, the daughter of Ferd and Allie (Adkins) Ashcraft. She married Orville Walker on August 11, 1934 at the Parsonage of Central Christian Church, Danville, by Rev. John E. Foster. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1996. Leone is survived by: 3 Children- Mary Lou (Jack) Klage, James F. (Bonnie) Walker - both of Danville, Diana S. (Joe) Domer of Naples, Florida; 3 Grandchildren- Michelle (Mike) Elmendorf, Troy (Crystall) Walker and Tammy (Keith) Moschea; 5 Great-Grandchildren- Brittani and Ashley Walker, Bailey and Nolan Reese, Devynn Elmendorf. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, Grandson- Todd Walker, 2 Brothers- James Carlton and Frank Ashcraft. She attended Milliner Grade School and was a 1934 graduate of Danville High School. Leone was a homemaker, and enjoyed tatting and crocheting. She was later employed by Vermilion County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Vermilion County Conservation District until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Central Christian Church of Danville for over 50 years.
