Leonard Hylbert, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the remarkable age of 89. Born on November 7, 1935, Leonard's life was one marked by devotion to family, undying love, and a vibrant spirit enriched by both leisure and duty.

Leonard proudly served his country in the Navy, dedicating 20 years of his life to military service before retiring. His strength and commitment were a testament to his character.

Throughout his life, Leonard found joy in a multitude of passions. He enjoyed fishing, embraced the excitement of NASCAR races, and cherished the time spent watching his daughter compete in drag racing. Camping trips and winter vacations in Florida were not just hobbies, but treasured moments of togetherness that he deeply valued. Family gatherings were a cornerstone of his existence, where laughter and love thrived.

Leonard was married to the love of his life, Jane Hylbert, for an astounding 70 years, a bond that exemplified unwavering love and partnership. Together, they nurtured a family filled with joy and unity.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jane Hylbert; children, Dale (Lynn) Hylbert and Sue (Roger) Campbell; grandchildren, Kristina (Mark) Bradley, Shannon (Derik) Hunt, Kristin, Shawn, Ryan, and Jason; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Joseph, Morgan, Ayla, Aria, Weslyn, Swayze, Hayden, Colton, Jacob, and Max; and great-great-grandchildren Logan and Scarlett.

Leonard is preceded in death by his son, Douglas Hylbert; grandson, Jeremiah Hilbert; brother, Stan Hylbert; and parents, Foster and Nellie Hylbert.

A visitation will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home- Lux Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, Illinois, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
