Leonard Colleen

DANVILLE- Leonard E. Colleen 82, of Danville, passed away at 6:45pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the Danville VA Illinia Health Care System. Leonard was born on January 22, 1926 in Danville. the son of Oscar and Georgianna Courtin Colleen, both deceased. On February 2, 1945, Leonard married Ann Garmalid in Philadelphia, PA. She preceded him in death in 1987. On June 14, 1991, Leonard then married Shirley Dodge in Danville. She survives and will dearly miss him along with his two children: Michael Colleen of Danville, and Nancy (Jesse) DeMoss of Danville. Also surviving Leonard are his three grandchildren: Michael Todd (April) Colleen, Michelle (Ryan) Cloyd, and Jamie (Julie) Lazzell. His two step-grandchildren: Kristin Welker, Kari Welker, seven great-grandchildren: Ryan Colleen, Kelsey Huffman, Jamie Colleen, Alex Cloyd, Brendan Cloyd, Amber Lazzell, Zachery Colleen, two step-daughters: Carolyn King, Patti Welker, his step great-granddaughter: Erica Castaing, and his sister: Lois Shedlock of St. Louis, MO. His brother John, and sister Virginia, precede Leonard in death. Leonard enlisted in the United States Navy from 1944-1946, seeing action in the Pacific Theater during WWII. After the military, Leonard was a member of the IBEW Union for 60 years, as well as a past Electric Inspector for the city of Danville for 15 years. He was a member of the Harrison Golf Club in Danville, and the Danville Elks Club. He enjoyed being up to date with the current events, golfing, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears play on Television, and spending time with family, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
