Leona Mae Wiese, 81, of Danville, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Leona was born on October 11, 1923 in Danville, the daughter of Elijah and Nannie (Tabor) Hale. She married Herbert Wiese on December 21, 1946 in Hoopeston, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1982. She is survived by her one son- Robert (Terri) Wiese of Danville; one daughter- Sharon Wiese of Danville; two grandchildren- Rob and Michelle Wiese both of Danville; special friends- Alice Payne of Covington, Indiana, and Vic (Fran) Tarquini of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters- Betty Poland and Bonnie Gavitt, and one brother- Carroll Hale. Leona was owner and partner at Bobs Market since 1963. She was a member of second Church of Christ. Leona enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed sewing and shopping. She was a member of American Legion Post #210. Leona enjoyed meeting her friends at Red Lobster to play cards with them.
