Leona M Perez

Leona M. Perez, 70, of Danville, passed away at 8:02am, Sunday, July 26, 2015, at her home. She was born on October 7, 1944, in Cayuga, IN, the daughter of Harold E. and Irena M. {Stokes} Brown. She was united in marriage to Jose L. Perez on January 5, 1976. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by: her mother, Irena M. Stokes of Danville; her sons, Doug (Leann) Larrance of Cayuga, Candelario Perez of Phoenix, AZ, Darrin Perez of Danville, & Ryan Perez of Danville; her daughters, Tami (Tim) Dixon of Cayuga, Jeri (Darren) Arford of Georgetown, Sarita (Chris) Butts of Danville; her 18 grandchildren; her seven great grandchildren; her brother, Harold W. (Candace) Brown of Danville; her many Aunts & Uncles; and her several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and her niece, Tina {Brown} Bott. Leona enjoyed crocheting, working in the garden, & cooking for everyone. She was a nurturing person who loved all children. Leona had worked for Danville Care and later at the Redwood Inn as a clerk. Above all else, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Leona's life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm, Friday, July 31, 2015, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her family in care of Sarita Butts at Landmark Credit Union Go Fund Me Savings Account to help with expenses.
