Kingman, Ind. -- Leona M. Hoth, 76, of Kingman, Indiana and formerly of Cayuga, Indiana, passed away at 5:38 a.m. EDT Monday, May 5, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born December 7, 1931 in Fountain County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Mark and Ruby Stonebraker Edwards. Survivors include: two sons, Ronald Peterson of Bloomingdale, Indiana and Orville Peterson of Cayuga, Indiana; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Violet JoAnn Welch of Urbana, Illinois; special friend for the past five years, Merle Hickman of Kingman, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald"Duck"Peterson and four half brothers. Leona was a RN for twenty years at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinos. She was also a homecare giver in the Cayuga, Indiana area. Leona was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary Rainbow Post #263 since 1971. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and raising flowers. Graveside service and burial: 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana with memorial services by the Cayuga American Legion Auxiliary; Officiating: Rev. William Lehman. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
