Leona Jeannette Kuchefski

Leona Jeannette Kuchefski, 92, of Hegeler, passed away at 3:50am, Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on May 1, 1921, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Ellis Clarence and Jeanette {Cork}Heischmann, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Frank Kuchefski on September 20, 1941, in Hegeler, until his passing on April 27, 1994. She will be dearly missed by: her children, Stephen (Phillis) Kuchefski of The Villages, FL, Mark (Olivia) Kuchefski of Bloomington, IN, & Claudia (Kenneth) Ohl of Covington, IN; her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Kuchefski of Fithian; her grandchildren, Thomas Kuchefski, Sally (Mike) Adams, Eric (Kelly) Kuchefski, Alan (Tara) Kuchefski, Ann (Sean) Braunstein, Laura Kuchefski, Andrew Ohl, & Adam Ohl; and her great grandchildren, Katie Kuchefski, Christopher Adams, Loralei Kuchefski, Hayden Kuchefski, & Thomas Kuchefski. She was preceded in death by: her son, Frank Jr; her great granddaughter, Lauryn Kuchefski; her two sisters, Elizabeth Groner & Dorothy Tarzinski; her special niece, Evelyn Vivier. Leona was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. She worked for Peterson Puritan and retired in 1985 after 30 years of service. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bingo. She loved being with her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, February 20, 2014, at St. Marys Church, 231 N State St, Westville, IL, with Father Sauppe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service at the Church. She will be entombed at Resurrection Cemetery, Danville. Memorials may be given in her name to St. Marys Church.
