Leon E. Curley 79 of Danville passed away at 8:20 A.M. Wednesday May 3, 2006 at the VA Illiana Health care System. He was born June 12, 1926 in Watseka, IL the son of Patrick and Geneva Miller Curley. He married Doris M. Bannon on July 1, 1951 in Danville, she survives, also three sons, Steve Curley, Terry (Linda) Curley, Doug (Tammy) Curley all of Danville, one daughter, Nancy (Archie) Quick of Danville, ten grandchildren, Amy, Michelle, Amanda, Mark, Zach, Ryan, Morgan, Andy, Jenny and Katrina, ten great-grandchildren, Mikaela, Madison, Colton, Douglas, Rylie, Annilly, Joseph, Jazmine, Kirsten and Damon. He was preceded by his parents and a granddaughter Carlena. Leon had served in the U.S. Army during WWII and later went to work for R&S Printing Company for 23 years. He loved antique cars and was a charter member of the Illiana Antique Auto Club. Leon was a member of the Danville Barber Shop Chorus and enjoyed playing his Hawaiian guitar live on WDAN radio station in his early years. He was a volunteer for the Vermilion County War Museum and the Fisher Theater; he liked to research the history of Danville. Most of all he loved his family. A celebration of life funeral service for Leon will be 10:00 A.M Monday May 8, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating: Chaplain Mak Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery with Military rites by the American Legion post # 210. Visitation will be 1-5 P.M. Sunday May 7, 2006 at the Funeral home.
