Lenora Rose Mills

Lenora Rose Mills, 84, of Covington, passed away at 11:03pm, Monday, July 26, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. She was born on February 2, 1937, in Cates, Indiana to Russell and Thelma (Wallace) Nixon, both deceased. Lenora married Keith Mills on December 28, 1990. He survives. She is also survived by five children, Leora Clark of Danville, Lisa Royce of Mississippi, Lee (Machelle) Dykes of Danville, Leila (Adam) Lesley of Danville, & Rich Nicholson of Indianapolis; her three stepchildren, Pam Hoskins, Cindy (Billy) Healen, & Rob (Jenny) Mills; her grandchildren, Jessica Biggs, Jamie Miller, Autumn (Rob) Perry, Daniel (Amanda) Shepherd, Colby Dykes, Kaleigh (Brennan) Love, John Clark, Brady Auter, Andrew Nicholson, & McKenna Perry; her great grandchildren, Aiyana Austin, Talen Miller, Halee Miller, Brandon Bennett, Oliva Shepherd, Emily Shepherd, Seth Dykes, Guy Perry, Barrett Love, Warner Love, Aziekiel Auter, Ares Liggett, & Stevie Ray Auter; her brother, Walter (Marilyn) Nixon of Kingman, IN; and her sister, Annette Marie (Cal) Chaussee of Colorado. Lenora worked at Chuckles Candy Co., owned Nicks Place, worked as a cook at General Motors, ran her own catering company. Her greatest joy in life was her kids and grandkids. The family would like to thank Dr. Rowland and all his little helpers at Carle on North Vermilion Street, Cancer Center. She loved each and every one of them. A celebration of Lenoras life will be held at 11:00am (EST), Friday, July 30, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, Indiana. Per Lenora, flowers are not requested, but hug someone you love. Memorial donations may be given in her name to donors choice of charity.
