Lenard M. Knee 70, of Danville, passed away at 2:33 p.m. Thursday September 7, 2006 at Provena USMC Hospital. He was born November 26, 1935 in Danville, the son of William J. and Wanda VanVickle Knee. He married Shirley Clem on May 10, 1963 in Danville; she survives, also one son; Timothy Knee of Batavia, OH, one daughter; Teresa (Kip) Ping of Loveland, OH, one brother; Dale Knee of Glendale, AZ, a sister Dorothy Cunningham of Danville and two grandchildren; Abigail and Levi Ping both of Loveland, OH. He was preceded by his parents and one brother. Lenard was a retired truck driver with Commercial Lovelace Trucking Company with 30 years of service and presently had worked for the past 20 years with Dines Machine Shop. Lenard attended the 2nd Church of Christ and was a member of the Retired Teamsters Local # 26 He enjoyed travel, woodworking, splitting wood, John Deere Tractors, mushroom hunting and helping people. Most of all he enjoyed his family and grandchildren. A celebration of life funeral for Lenard will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Officiating will be Drew Mentzer. Burial: Johnson Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, September 10th at the funeral home.
