Lena M. Simpson

Hoopeston- Lena M. Simpson, 88, of Hoopeston, IL, formerly of Wellington, IL, passed away at 11:14 AM on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on March 23, 1924 in Hoopeston to Luther R. and Mary Boston Hensley. She married John F. Simpson on July 28, 1966. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2004. She is survived by her God Child, Mary Lacine; and special friends, John (Kay) Carlson, Jay (Darla) Carlson, Julie (Stephen) Lacine, and Joni (Matt) Morgeson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Barbara Ann Wilson. Lena was the owner and operator of Simpson Farms. She enjoyed golf, music, was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and was proud to have seen the first night game at Wrigley Field. Lena also liked to spend her winters in the warm Florida weather. Per Lena's wishes, no services will be held. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Donor's Choice.
