Lena Frances Anders, 86, of Danville, passed away at 7:45am on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born in Newell Township, Vermilion County, IL, on February 12, 1925, the daughter of John and Atha (Edwards) Potter. Both are deceased. On September 2, 1943, Lena married Royce Anders until his passing on March 18, 1995. She is survived and will be missed by her two children; Gerald (Irene) Anders of Fort Wayne, IN, and Judith Sanders of Danville. Her granddaughter; Grace Anders of Danville, great-granddaughter; Aubrey Anders, and her sister; Eva Davis of Danville also survives Lena. In addition to her parents and husband, Royce, her two brothers; Robert and Andrew Potter, one sister; Betty Pataki, one grandson; Gordon Tick Sanders, and one granddaughter; Theresa Sanders preceded Lena in death. She graduated from Danville High School, and was employed with R&S Printing of Danville as a book binder for 33 years, retiring in 1988. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and served on the Eunice Committee preparing funeral dinners. She was also a member of the Past Frontier Twirlers Club, the Book Binding Union and AARP. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her family, and volunteering at the former, Danville VA, for the past 18 years, working over 10,000 hours. She will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of Life Service for Lena Frances Anders will begin at 10:00am on Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 824 East Main Street in Danville with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Lenas name to the Trinity Lutheran Church. E-mail condolences may be made to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
