GEORGETOWN - Leland P. Hammer Humrichous, 75, of Georgetown passed away at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday May 15, 2007 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. He was born on August 16, 1931 in Georgetown, IL the son of Albert and Virginia Walden Humrichous. He married Charlotte Allen on August 2, 1958 in Urbana, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Dayna Humrichous of Georgetown, mother and father-in-law, Bob & Mary Rector of Rockville, IN, sister-in-law, Charlotte Humrichous of Georgetown, brother-in-law, Charles Allen of Georgetown, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Hammer retired from OLIN/Flexel after 38 years of service. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. He enjoyed golfing and traveling, especially spending his winters in Florida. Most of all, Hammer loved spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of Hammers life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday May 18, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN. Officiating: Pastor Joe Humrichous and Steve Rutter. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday May 17, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to the First Church of Christ in Georgetown or the Prostate Cancer Research at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.
