Perrysville, Ind. - Leland J. 'Pete' Langley, 95, of rural Perrysville, passed away at 11:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana.

Pete was born on March 13, 1927 in Danville, Illinois the son of the late Joseph and Lida Mae (Fairchild) Langley.

He married Barbara Jean Kilby on September 24, 1949 in Danville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2010.

Survivors include two sons: Gary (Lynn) Langley of Covington, Indiana and Lary (Marsha) Langley of Perrysville, Indiana; three grandchildren: Sharon (Andrew) Toon of Terre Haute, Indiana; Kerri (Eric) Burke of Covington, Indiana and Lance Langley of Perrysville, Indiana, and two great-granddaughters: Delilah and Scarlett Burke.

Pete was preceded in death by his sister: Lois Kammer; brother: Lawrence Langley, and special friend: Irene Bland.

Pete owned/operated L. Langley and Sons Trucking for 50+ years. He attended Union Corner School. His memberships included the Union Corner United Methodist Church; Perrysville Unity Lodge #344 F Western Indiana Shriners; Scottish Rite; Gao Grotto in Danville, Illinois, and the Wabash Valley Steam and Gas Club. Pete enjoyed watching old western movies when not working.

Funeral and Masonic services: Monday, May 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. EDT at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Patti Wise; Burial: Atherton Cemetery in Danville, Illinois; Visitation: Monday, May 9, 2022 from 11 a.m. EDT until time of services. Contributions may be made to the Union Corner United Methodist Church; 14158 Perrysville Road; Danville, Illinois 61834-5871.
