Leland F. Davis, 75, of Danville, passed away at 1:35am, Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on November 12, 1943, in Danville, IL, the son of Lloyd L. and Mary Alice {Parliament} Davis, both deceased.
He is survived by his beloved, Connie Davis of Danville; his children, Sherri (Lawrence) Searl, Kelly (Howard) Good, & Amanda (Ronald) Hidalgo; his grandchildren, Michael Good, Sydney Good, Emerson Searl, Ben Loeffler, Charlotte Hidalgo, & Amelia Hidalgo; his brothers, Phillip (Andi) Davis, & Gerald (France) Davis; and two sisters, Sandra (Chuck) Zimmerman & Beverly (Pearce) Brooks. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Lyn Davis.
Leland was a graduate of Bismarck High School Class of 1961. He was a proud Veteran of the US Marine Corps Reserves. He was a farmer in his early years and later became a real estate agent, as well as an independent truck driver. He was a man who loved to keep busy and work by also painting houses and sandblasting which showed his solid work ethic in life.
Leland enjoyed farming, going fishing, and loved being out in nature. He would love to sit and watch the sunrises and sunsets. He was a strong family-man and enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He never knew a stranger and loved to meet and talk with people all his life.
He has attended Georgetown Friends Church, Liberty Church, & First Baptist Church in Covington. He loved his Lord Jesus.
A Celebration & Gathering of family & friends for Lelands life will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Georgetown, located at 200 E West St. A private family service will be held on March 28, 2019. As per his wishes, he will be cremated and later be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to Shriners Childrens Hospital.
