Lela Mae Duncheon, 88, of Danville, passed away at 10:30 AM on November 1, 2013 at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home in Chrisman, IL. She was born on August 25, 1925 in Caruthersville, MO, the daughter of Joseph and Nora (Mayo) Williams. She married Frances Duncheon in 1947 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving her are three sons, Michael (Joan) Duncheon of San Mateo, CA, Daniel (Jody) Duncheon of Danville, Patrick (Donna) Duncheon of Land O Lake, FL, one sister, Estlee Williams of St. Louis, MO, seven grandchildren, James, Timothy, Julia, Christofer, Jacob, Britni Duncheon and Kathleen Concilio and one great grandchild. Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert Duncheon and one brother, Joseph Williams. She was an outstanding cook, cooking for St. Patricks/Holy Family School for 32 years. Mae gave countless hours to the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent the DePaul, and Holy Family. She loved cooking for all the children and making her famous beef and noodles. Mae also had her own catering business for 35 years. She and Frances enjoyed going camping and being there for all of their childrens activities. A Celebration of Maes Life will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
