Lela M. (Jenkins) Rollins, 85, of Georgetown, passed away at 10:45am, Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 18th, 1922, in Jenkins Ford, IL, the daughter of Wilbert and Martha (Pridemore) Shuman, both deceased. She was united in marriage to John C. Jenkins in 1940 in Newport, IN, until his passing on May 21, 1974. She was later wed to Lawrence Larry Rollins in 1974 in Georgetown. He will miss her. She will also be missed by: her daughter, Pam (Ted) Kopacz of Danville; her step-son, Michael (Sharon) Rollins of Defiance, OH; her grandchildren, Darla Kraemer of Mansfield, IL, J.D. King of Georgetown, Buddy King of Danville, Tracey (Scott) Hart of Georgetown, Terri (Troy) Brown of Danville, Shawn Jenkins of Louisiana, Shannon Jenkins of Louisiana, and Tammy Jenkins of Louisiana; her great grandchildren, Johnnie Kay, Austin, Jesse, Jordan, Jayden, Hunter, Trevor, Tanner, & Treyton; her great-great grandchildren, Cody & Jordan; her sister, Mary Wilson of Danville; her special niece, Patty (Jerry) Griffith of Georgetown. She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Cleola Johnnie Burke; her son, Wilbur Bud Jenkins; and her grandson, Bernard Loran Burke. Lela was past President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Georgetown and past member of the Moose Lodge. Lela cared for War Veterans as well as Cross Point patients for over 40 years. She enjoyed eating out, vacationing, playing cards and shopping with her family. Her family meant the world to her and it was evident in every part of her life. Lelas family would like to extend a special Thank You to Jana, Lelas special friend and nurse, and Tonya, both from Carle Hospice, who cared for her. A celebration of Lelas life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, July 8th, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Reverend James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm, Monday, July 7th, 2008, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Grandview Memorial Park in Mahomet, IL.
