Danville- Leatrice B. Hadley Allen went to be with the Lord at 1:10 PM on January 8, 2013. She was born on April 17, 1930 in Danville, IL to C. Leroy and Bernice Chambers Hadley. She was married to John (Jack) M. Allen on November 23, 1947 in St. Anne, IL. She has lived in Danville all her life. Leatrice was the owner and operator of Allen Accounting for 47 years, a member First United Methodist Church for over 60 years, member of the Illiana Genealogy and History Society of which she was past President and Governor Bradford Chapters of Daughters of the American Revolution. Lea liked making crafts for the children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, working on genealogy, sitting in her sun room watching the birds, watching Illinois basketball and football, and most of all, family get togethers. Lea also loved her spoiled dog, Missy. Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years, John M. Allen; daughters Connie (David) Sellers of Westville, IL, Lisa J. Allen of Brownsburg, IN and Tammy (Curtis) Price of Owensville, IN; son Robert (Crystal) Allen of Springfield, IL; grandchildren Kimberly (David) Hoskins of West Lebanon, IN, David Sellers of Danville, IL, Terri Sellers of Westville, IL, Lori (Mark) Weir of Wyoming, MI, Summer Allen and Brittany Allen of Springfield, IL, Whitney Burton if New Orleans, LA, Eric Burton and Taylor Burton of Brownsburg, IN, Kayla Price of Fairfield, CA, Trenton Price of Owensville, IN; great-grandchildren Lacy and Casey Sellers of Fairmount, IL, Bryson Hoffman of Westville, IL, Dallas, Daelyn, and Dhakiya Weir of Wyoming, MI, Hayden and Breahna of West Lebanon, IN, Isaiah Mayberry of Brownsburg, IN; also a brother Duane (Delores) Hadley of Greenville, SC; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son John Jr., brother Edsel, and nephew Mike Hadley. A service to celebrate the life of Lea Allen will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Pastor Peggy Emmert will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, January 11, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
