Lawrence Weir

Cayuga, Ind --- Lawrence L."Bert" Weir, 86, of Cayuga, Indiana passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 3:45 PM EDT at the Waters of Covington. He was born September 10, 1920 in Cayuga, the son of the late Thomas H. and Margie A. Lewis Weir. Also preceding him in death are a grandson, two sisters and three brothers. Bert married Rosa F. Campbell June 5, 1947 in Newport, Indiana and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Ogle, Cayuga, Marilyn (Charles) Campbell, Danville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Mike Jordan, Cayuga; Amanda (Adam) Day, Newport, Indiana; Tracy (Mark) Chaney of Manford Oklahoma; Brad and Jill, Danville, Illinois; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Vera Chapman, Cayuga, Indiana. Bert retired in 1985 after working 40 years with the Colonial Brick Company, Cayuga. He was a WW II veteran serving in the Army. He was a life member of the Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post # 263 of Cayuga. He enjoyed football, gardening,mushrooming and being with his grandchildren. Services: 11 am EST, Monday,October 30, 2006 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, Indiana Officiating: Rev. Andy Spencer Burial: Miller Cemetery, Lodi, Ind Visitation:Sunday, 4 to 8 pm EST at the funeral home. Military Rites conducted by Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post # 263.
