Lawrence Austin

Lawrence Austin, Jr., 82 of Tilton went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Presence United Samaritans Hospital in Danville. Lawrence was born the son of Lawrence, Sr. and Bonnie (Kilbury) Austin on October 26, 1932 in Rossville, IL. He married Delcena Edenburn on September 12,1951 in Potomac. She survives. Also surviving are three children Donna Morse, Janice (Myreon) Reitsma and Cy (Sherri) Austin; one sister, Phyllis (Gene) Vandervort; seven grandchildren, Brian, Brad, Cy Alan, Tammy, Richard, Alasa and Makenzie and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Lawrence was a member of Southside Church of Christ for more than 50 years and was an elder of the church. Lawrence worked as a salesman for Chesty Potato Chips until he retired. He loved his church and his favorite pastime was to go fishing, but the most important thing to him was family. A celebration of Lawrence's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Southside Church of Christ, 611 South Forrest St., Danville, IL with minister Kevin Ziegler officiating. A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
