Lavinia Vene Pavlick, 90, of Danville, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Vene was born on November 26, 1919 in Grape Creek, Illinois, the daughter of Herbert and Olga Johnson Ray. She married Joe Pavlick in Danville in 1938. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2001. She is survived by two sons and a daughter- Gary (Elaine) Pavlick of Branson, Missouri, Ken (La Verne) Pavlick of Williamsport, Indiana and Debbie (Wade Elmore) Pavlick of Danville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and an infant sister. She was a member of South Side Church of Christ for 32 years and played organ and piano. Then the last 20 years she was a member of Hooton Church of Christ playing the piano there. She was a member of Eunice Club and attended homemakers class. She loved cooking, sewing and making many crafts which she shared with friends. She loved her family and said many times she hoped they would stay close knit after her death. A Celebration of the life of Lavinia Vene Ray Pavlick will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Dave Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Carle Hospice.
