Lavina E. Brown, 85, of Danville, passed away at 5:10pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on November 19th, 1922, in Georgetown the daughter of Charles and Opal (Hall) Nevels. She was wed to Leonard Brown on July 22, 1938, in Danville until his passing on April 17th, 1988. She will be missed by: her grandchildren, Jack Coon of Danville & Deana Meeker of Danville; her great grandchild, Lesley Coon of Danville; her nieces, Barb (Dean) Williams of Crown Point, IN, & Vickie (Greg) Black of Tilton. She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and her daughters, Mary (Jack) Coon and Garnet (Carl) Ramsey. Lavina enjoyed operating her antique shop on Vance Lane. She liked hunting for antiques. She also took pleasure in crocheting, quilting, & crafts. The family would like to thank the Staff of Colonial Manor for the care and friendship that was shown to Lavina and her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, with a one hour visitation prior. Pastor James Blue will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
