Lavern Irene Smith

LaVern IreneBernie (Smoot) Smith, 95, of Danville, passed away at 4:13pm, Saturday May 26, 2007 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, Illinois. She was born on December 21, 1911 in Collison, the daughter of Gracia and Vern Jennings. She married Gerald T. Smith on May 6, 1932 in Crown Point, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Jean Bash of Dana, Indiana, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandchild in 1973. Her hobbies were flowers, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. Celebration of life for LaVern Irene Smith will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ron Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
