Lavada Lawlyes

Perrysville, Ind. -- Lavada Lawlyes, 78, of Perrysville, Indiana, went to receive her rewards while surrounded by her family at 1:25 p.m. EDT Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born March 14, 1930 in Coal Branch (Rural Perrysville, Indiana), the daughter of the late Arnold and Bessie Hines Webb. She married Albert Lawlyes on September 17, 1948 in Coal Branch. He survives. Other survivors include: two sons, David(Mary)Lawlyes of Perrysville, Indiana and Daniel(Chris)Lawlyes of Kokomo, Indiana; one granddaughter, Sarah Lawlyes of Cayuga, Indiana; four grandsons, William and Robert Lawlyes both of Perrysville, Indiana; Trent and Connor Lawlyes both of Kokomo, Indiana; three sisters, Mary(Howard)Rice of Danville, Illinois; Carol Brunner of Otterbein, Indiana and Gertrude(Melvin)Dunham of Danville, Illinois; one brother, Gerald Webb of Westville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lawlyes; two sisters and two brothers. Lavada was a charter member of the Coal Branch Independent Church. She was a 1948 graduate of Perrysville High School. Lavada enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting. Most of all she enjoyed attending her grandchildrens sporting events. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 24, 2008 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Tracy Taulman; Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday, May 23, 2008 at the funeral home.
