Laurie J. Carter, 57, of Georgetown, passed this life on December 10, 2015, at her home with her daughter, son, & sisters by her side. She was the daughter of John & Wilma {Swank} Wilming, who preceded her in death along with her sister, Mary Ann. She is survived by: her daughter, Tara Carter of Georgetown; a daughter-in-law, Hollie Ames of Georgetown; her son, Blake (Jessica) Carter of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Mason, Myla, Steven, and her sisters, Brenda (Paul) Dehlinger & Toni (David) Spence. Ms. Carter served as distinguished alderperson for the City of Georgetown. She was a member of the First Church of Christ and employed at Ray O'Herron & Co. for several years. She was known for her fun-loving personality & wonderful sense of humor. She brought joy to all that knew her. Ms. Carter's family would like to thank the many family, friends, & Ray O'Herron co-workers who offered comfort & support through this difficult time. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 12, 2015, at First Church of Christ, Georgetown, with Phil Miller officiating. A visitation will be held 11am-1pm Saturday prior to her service at the church. As were her wishes, Ms. Carter will be cremated. Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, assisted her family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to First Church of Christ Georgetown.
